Surrounded by smaller areas under its Symphonic influence such as Bellevue, Redmond, Medina, Issaquah, and National Forests, Seattle’s symphony is unsurprisingly alive with activity. The reality of Seattle proper is unreliable, its timeline splitting into adjacent realities every few decades. The city itself resists change, quietly but firmly detaching itself from unkept hooks of the God Machine and mundane influence. This is perhaps why Seattle proper is known as the “Mecca” for those who simply wish to hide themselves in the cracks of this fractured nexus of reality. However, just over the water to the East, God Machine aligned individuals keep projects running with its over-caffeinated coders, engineers, and medical professionals. Seattle is not a safe haven for the unchained and unscored by any means, but it’s a curious, fascinating place for Hell.
With most of its members hailing from a now-defunct Agency, Postmortem is a fresh face in the Seattle Symphony with its sights set on not vying for local dominance but rather carving out a place for itself and investigating all things supernatural. The ring’s main agenda is of Inquisitor nature, bound together by the theme of death and the beyond while still researching other paranormal phenomena.
Postmortem’s base of operations is not in Seattle proper but rather in nearby Issaquah, in a large secluded estate belonging to The Duke of Shadows, one of the ring’s founding members. The vast property is not only the congregating location of the ring but it likewise houses some of its resources.
Originally established by a group of stigmatic cultists, Manta Corp only became the powerful Integrator establishment it is today through its current leader. Working in tandem with the God Machine and providing information in return for information, Manta Corp is known far and wide for its underhanded inquisitor tactics to understand the symphony. Having gained substantial influence and power, Manta proves to be the God-Machine’s “in” for the reality resistant landscape of Seattle, and Manta is pleased to provide so long as they get what they want in return. With locations in both the 1962 Seattle Time Splinter as well as Redmond, WA, Manta is well connected. Best not be on their radar.
As you move further east from Seattle, civilization becomes sparser with the landscape giving way to woodland and rugged terrain. Roughly 50 miles out and hugging the Cascade Mountains is the sprawling Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Home to a diverse ecosystem of flora and fauna, what makes this area unique is its curious absence of the God-Machine’s influence. Whether it be a result of the low population of humans or something else, it’s something of a place of refuge for the Symphonically inclined.
