From 01.19 to 02.18, the Sun transits every year Aquarius. The sign is ruled by Uranus, with Air as the element to make things flow, as the force for not staying too long, to set developmental paths for everyone. The sign is usually represented as a man pouring water from a vessel, the one who disperses and distributes, and is assigned to eight cards in the Egyptian Tarot deck by Kier Ed., where 4 is its number. And, among Greek deities, the ones related to the sign are Hera and Poseidon: stars in the sky and seas on Earth, both being one single reflection.
During the solar month, it begins a time of reversal in each hemisphere. In the North, it's like a sprout coming out into the air, from fertile soil, slowly receiving direct sunlight, faint, weak, luminous, softly warm. In the South, it's a month to progressively relax and let go: potency will decrease, so distend and prepare for resting, in further times. I Ching refers to these moments in hexagrams Fu Return (24) and Kou Coupling (44): raise the empty and start decreasing, respectively.
In classic and esoteric Astrologies, Aquarius counts on several rulers: Uranus, Jupiter and Mars, key masses for developing fixated signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio & the very Aquarius). And, according to karmic Astrology, Air signs (Gemini, Libra & Aquarius) don't always float in the air: they're quite interested in the matters of the body, mundane and concrete affairs, although they may not express it in the first place.
indexAquarius is associated to 2 major cards and 6 minor ones: The Emperor (4), Transmutation (21), Impediments (31), Foreboding (40), Versatility (49), Retraining (58), Friendship (67) and Dispenser (76).

Northern Hemisphere
FU Return
24. A sprout (destructive cycle).
Like a shy awakening. The outer world doesn't know it yet but something's going on in the mind, inside. Darkness occults from other people's eyes, is a veil and curtain. However, new ideas will be raised or ancient ones will come back. During the month, expect for a kind of inner shaking although it won't be noticed, anyway. And even though it may be something more related to the way of thinking, it may become something more than just an inner move: maybe the starting point of a whole new way to take action in the world outside. But it's too soon to be certain about it.
Southern Hemisphere
KOU Coupling
44. Relaxing (destructive cycle).
A month to try variations. It will be hard to remain sticked to motifs or interests for too long, or establish long-lasting relationships. The most general situations might not be modified although more flexible ways will be necessary to make use of sporadic contacts, as people don't settle down, remain free from ties and try different ways (something a bit unstable from an inner perspective). Anyway, it's a month to stay focused on goals, trusting the expected results for the period will be achieved.
Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are all fixated signs. They guarantee intermmediate processes between vital phases, so they're in charge of setting them in motion for development. And when the Sun is in Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are all fixated signs. They guarantee intermmediate processes between vital phases, so they're in charge of setting them in motion for development. And when the Sun is in Aquarius, the four fixated signs are unfolded in a very particular way.
Among Olympian deities, Aquarius is associated to Hera and Poseidon: sex and love united like Heaven and Earth, mutual reflections on Earth, inseparable in language definitions. About Hera, read the previous newsletter delivery, since Greek deities rule two signs of the Zodiac: Hera rules both Capricorn and Aquarius.
People born between 01.19 and 02.18 will display birth charts of a special karmic background. They should pay a lot of attention to what happens in depths, under any surface. That's an area to find intense feelings, disturbing changes, impulses finally shaking both body and spirit. The sea may seem calm although it could change in a minute, unleashing chaos, disorder and important loses. Those born on January between days 13 and 27 will stay grounded, considering costs, earnings and results as priorities. Those born between January 28 and February 13 will be quite interested in all related to love affairs, arts and aesthetics, expressing themselves openly and more physically than others. Whereas those of the last days of the sign, born on February between days 14 and 18, will probably live beyond words although will be much more inclined to specific likings and preferences.
Lost constellations
Some Renaissance charts show constellations that are now missed from Western sky maps. The article mentions their names, what or who inspired them, and how they became part of atlases in those times. You'll also find the 88 current constellations, the main stars and meanings, and two graphs to easily locate the most important ones, in your sign or next to it.
Uranus: the planet of Astrology
In the month of Aquarius, stars have a special role. From ancient Greeks and Romans, Uranus was a god initially considered as the main mythical reference, beyond Earth. But when it entered the Zodiac in the XVIII century, many things changed. Since then, the ancient god of creation ruled electricity and magnetism on horoscopes, and also set the later positions of Neptune and Pluto.
Native-American Zodiac
The month of Aquarius in the Northern Hemisphere is associated to the Otter, a sign mainly related to rest and purification. Otters are described as out-of-series people, quite singular and with a rare sense of play. There's nothing conventional about them and count on incredible creativity. They also keep good relationships and tend to take care of the household.
The month of Aquarius in the Southern Hemisphere is associated to the Salmon, a sign related to mature berries. Salmon people are described as enthusiastic, contagious and goal-oriented. They easily attract those wanting to be part of their ideas since they're intuitively driven to success. And, if next to the right person, they show themselves as sensual and willing to keep stable relationships.

Trees of Celtic tradition
Tree spirits are assigned according to lunar months, which begin at different dates than solar months do. When the Sun is in Aquarius, Beithe and Luis spirits flourish. That of Beithe is present during only two days of the water-carrier's month, between January 19 and 20. The rest of the solar month belongs to Luis tree. But Beithe's spirit has been present since before, when the Sun was in Capricorn, so you may find more about this spirit in the previous newsletter delivery dedicated to the sign of the goat.
People born between 01.21 and 02.17 are assigned to Luis' spirit (called Rowan in Gallic). The tree is associated to L character, which in Chiromancy is related to the index finger. The latter is also associated to Water element in Astrology. So Luis invokes and evokes sensibility, inspiration, romance and passion, and is related to magics, witchcraft and enchantments. The index finger is also associated to approachment manners and, by connecting at the base with the mount of Jupiter, Luis is the tree of sorcerers who know the paths, especially to the other side.
The tree is small and grows up to 30-40 ft although it can live up to 200 years-old. Naturally, it can be found in highlands, hard to be accessed if comparing with other species, so it's known as "The Lady of the Mountain".
Of thin trunk, Luis' wood is usually used in rituals, funerals and fortune-telling with metals, since the tree watches over the gate to the other world: it's related to death and rebirth, such as the vertical graph in L character indicates (pointing up like the index finger).
Of serrated margins and spear-shaped, leaves grow in pairs although alternated. Flowers are white, small and grow in bunches. Fruits are small too, of bright red color, and create a big constrast with green leaves, although they're very toxic before maturing. Opposite to the stem, there's a little five-pointed star, so the tree is also considered as a great protecting spirit, oftenly placed at gateways and entrances.
