Officers employed by the SASP are required to maintain a comprehensive loadout while on duty, in accordance with the following standards:

Standard Loadout:

• Combat Pistol (police issued)

• 1x Taser

• 1x Nightstick

• Sufficient pistol ammunition to fully load all magazines

• 2x Handcuffs

• 1x Flashlight

• 1000x Empty Evidence Bags

• 1x Radio

• 5x Heavy Armor (with one already worn)

• 10x Taser Carts

• 15x Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs)

• 1x Handcuff key

• 1x Nikoff G900 camera

• 1x Police Tablet

• 1x Department-issued badge

In addition to the mandatory items, the following are recommended for optimal preparedness:

• 2x Spike Strips

• 2x Repair Kits

• 1x Megaphone

• 1x Mikrosil

• 1x Fingerprint Tape

• 1x DNA Swab

• 1x GSR Test Kit

This Equipment and Loadout Policy is established to ensure the safety, effectiveness, and professionalism of our officers while performing their duties. A complete and standardized loadout is essential for officer readiness, allowing them to respond to a wide range of situations with the necessary tools and equipment.

All officers are required to adhere to this Equipment and Loadout Policy without exception. Deviations from this policy are only permitted with explicit authorization from departmental superiors.

To ensure compliance with this policy, officers are required to register their equipment with the guidance provided in the Equipment Registration Protocol.
