Marshfield 2023
Necedah Varsity teams traveled to Marshfield for their Night Fall Classic Meet. This is one of the most exciting meets of the year. The Night Fall Classic was originally created as a fun event for runners. Doug Clausen allowed his golf course to be closed for a day so runners could run at night on a course marked with strings of lights instead of flags. After Doug was diagnosed with cancer all proceeds from each meet go to cancer research.Â
When we arrived music was playing and teams were decorating camp with LED lights. Athletes decorated themselves with glow in the dark paint, glitter, glow sticks, and black light activated clothing to prepare for the race. D1, D2, and D3 runners ran together marking this as our varsity's largest race of the year. Necedah represented their school well leaving with a new school record, two medals, and 9 personal records! Many of our personal bests were by a half a minute or more!
