Coyote was having a terrible time hunting. He was unable to catch anything. He was walking through the grass next to the ocean when he noticed a large crowd gathered around a large whale that had beached on the sand. It was a large whale with a lot of meat. Coyote turned into a raven and flew above the people, shouting, "Gulage, aga dze el ban!"
The people put down their knives and looked up at the raven. They became extremely concerned. A coyote circled them, staring down.
The next day, a group of gamblers gathered in one location in the village. Coyote was present, but they didn't recognize him. He had transformed himself. They mistook him for a member of another tribe.
The gamblers started discussing what the raven had said the day before. Coyote inquired as to what the raven had said. "He flew over the dead whale yesterday in a circle and said, 'Gulage, aga dze el ban!'," said one of the gamblers. He repeated this two or three times before flying away to the east.
Oh, I see. I see what you mean. We're always talking to the ravens where I come from. " He was saying, "Perhaps a disease will arrive in this village in a few days.'"
When they heard this, people were disturbed. The chief dispatched a crier to inform everyone that the village was being relocated. They all got ready and left the next morning.
Following that, Coyote settled into the chief's lodge. He dismembered the whale and stored it in the other lodges. He stuffed the four largest ones. Coyote hung out there for a long time, consuming whale meat and fat.
