Hiking
Hiking
Around September of 2023, Mr. Chi, me, my brother, Kim and Cowboy formed the Outdoor club and departed for Khao Chalak to test out the club. This club is not really an official Wells club. We have no club meeting or anything and our premises is just to host an outdoor trip every month. The plan went well and many Grade 12 and 11 student joins the trip every month. As a leader, my job mostly have to do with printing and distributing permission slip.
As for the hike itself, it is somewhat challenging especially the first time but after a few attempts, walking up an uneven terrain has become a normal thing to do. What I enjoy the most about this activity is the scenery and sight seeing. I also love plants and nature so being deep in a mountain obviously plead me. Doing cardio is so very different from lifting weight and it make my body felt lighter. I also like the fact that this club allows student to exercise more in an enjoyable manner.
CAS Learning outcome
Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process - I has always like the idea of outdoor camping. When Mr. Chi proposed the idea to me, I was quite excited and although it was hiking not camping, it was close enough. In the first trip, I find climbing steep terrain to be extremely challenging. Right now, it is not that much of a problem, but I still have to work more on my cardio endurance.
