About the CAS
Class: Service
Call sign: Blind school assistance
This activity is associated with the Thai club. The main idea of this field trip is divided into two sections: making bua loi for the students and stories reading. I was assigned to story telling division and my job was fairly simple being a photographer.
Progress toward Leaning out come
1. Develop awareness of disable people
I've already feel empathy toward disabled long before this event so fulfilled
2. Somewhat develop my photography skill
status: not too bad but not very satisfied
Reflection
This activity prove to be difficult to a certain extent. The first cause for this is the photographer role that I only get appointed once the activity has commenced. The initial grouping was frankly a bit unclear and so the entire thing was a bit impromptu. For this, I do not have my camera with me at the time so I was left with my phone camera. Without great zoom, the pictures is obviously not very great. I mean, its fine. As for the bua loi part, I am not very sure how well that division did but from the looks, the students seems to enjoy the sweets. As my last duty there, I assist others in washing the dishes which is not a bad skill to practice. Overall, the experience was nice and it felt great to be a part of activity that may have cheers up many disabled students.
At the end of the event, I've acknowledge the value and joy of working alongside other people for task such as story telling and dish washing where the task get much easier when everyone have a dedicated jobs that they are responsible for.
