Call sign: Prom photographer


For 2023 Prom, I was chosen as one of the two photographers from the photography club. There was just no point in declining the offer as free ticket to prom is part of it and I would not deny free stuffs. Recently, I just sold my professional camera and buy a fixed lens camera instead so this event might be somewhat challenging. Additionally, I usually only take pictures that does not involves people in it.


Target learning outcomes

I think I did pretty well in term of candid pictures so fulfilled

Reflection

Many things did gone wrong in the event, namely the lowlight condition of the place which is a bit worst than I thought. The second hand camera that I just bought isn't topnotch and the auto focus is very crappy especially in such condition. At first I was really panicked for the unusable autofocus but I was able to swap to manual mode to make it works. In the end, I am quite proud with the result. Most of my pictures looks really great and many people even gave me a compliment for some pictures that goes hard. 

This activity help me develop a skill for candid photography with human as the subject and also the team work between me and another photographer. For the latter, another photographer is responsible for official photo booth while I am responsible for candid. This allow the two of us to station at one place which proves very effective.
