"As obras expostas fazem parte de um inventário sentimental, história coletiva de todos. Esta mostra emana da ideia de dar a conhecer os lugares de fé, o modo de os ver, viver e sentir em cada pedaço do território e das suas gentes e personalidades. Percorremos o calendário litúrgico como modo de viajar pelo tempo e por o lugar. Entre as tábuas do conhecimento, a presença do Menino Jesus no seu caminho até ao Calvário desenhámos um percurso que nos deixa ler méritos e atributos dos santos, tendo com base a liturgia.

A poética da fé entronca com a estética, a arte plástica, o significado e significância. Entre esculturas eruditas e arte popular; méritos e atributos (símbolos que designam e caracterizam os santos na sua representação para a veneração humana e que resultam do seu percurso de vida e obra) foram construídos os artefatos que brilham nesta exposição. Esta mostra de objetos que nos tocam pela sua beleza estética, pela carga emocional, significado litúrgico, agregando a comunidade e reforçando a pertença de grupo, congregaram ao longo desta viagem de séculos, artistas, mecenas, artesãos, decisores e crentes a criar representações de imagens de culto.

O diálogo entre as figuras divinas, a natureza e a humanidade construíram e consolidaram o modo de fazer a festa e de elevar o santo venerado. Valorizamos pois, a fé, o culto, a festa – trilogia que caracteriza as celebrações e as festividades no Concelho (e no Mundo).

Mas é no património humano - sem o qual a nossa vida não seria a mesma - que assenta a forma de passar testemunho de atos repetidos, por gerações que carregam a memória da festa e da veneração. A esses deixamos a nossa homenagem nesta exposição, convidando a visitar as nossa igrejas e ermidas."

"The exhibited works are part of a sentimental inventory, a collective history of all. This exhibition stems from the idea of making known the places of faith, the way to see, live and feel them in every part of the territory and its people. We go through the liturgical calendar as a way of traveling through time and place. Based on existing knowledge, the presence of the Child Jesus on his way to the Calvary, we designed a path that lets us read the merits and attributes of the saints, based on Liturgy.

The poetics of faith intertwines with aesthetics, plastic art, meaning and significance. Between erudite sculptures and popular art; merits and attributes (symbols that designate and characterize the saints in their representation for human veneration and that result from their journey of life and work), the artifacts that stand out in this exhibition were built. This exhibition of objects touches us due to their aesthetic beauty, emotional charge, liturgical significance, aggregating and reinforcing the sense of community. It has brought together artists, patrons, artisans, decision-makers and the faithful to create representations of people throughout this journey of centuries.

The dialogue between divine figures, nature and humanity built and consolidated the way to celebrate and elevate the venerated saint. We value, therefore, faith, worship, celebration - trilogy that characterizes the celebrations and festivities in the County (and in the World). But it is in the human heritage - without which our life would not be the same - that the form of passing testimony of repeated acts, for generations, that carry the memory of the festival and veneration, is based. We pay our homage to these in this exhibition, inviting you to visit our churches and chapels."
