Sendo manifesta uma estética gótica de matriz flamenga, no hieratismo das figuras e na rigidez dos seus panejamentos, esta funde-se porém, com novas interpretações artísticas, avançadas pelo Renascimento. Assim a demarcada caracterização psicológica das personagens, anunciando a importância que o retrato adquirirá, bem como o minucioso tratamento dos pormenores paisagísticos e arquitectónicos, que, curiosamente, referenciam características típicas da região flamenga, mas também de tradição italiana.

Expressing a Gothic aesthetic of Flemish matrix, in the hieratic nature of the figures and in the rigidity of their draperies, it merges with new artistic interpretations advanced by the Renaissance. Therefore the demarcated psychological characterization of the characters, announcing the importance that the picture will acquire, as well as the meticulous treatment of the landscape and architectural details, which, interestingly, refer to characteristics typical of the Flemish region, but also of Italian tradition.
