Escultura em pedra policromada e dourada

Proveniente do nicho da capela-mor da antiga Igreja de São João do Mocharro. Peça de escultura tardo-gótica portuguesa, com características que nos indiciam que a sua execução seja proveniente da região de Coimbra. Apontando para um disco onde se vê o Cordeiro Pascal, símbolo sacrificial de Jesus Cristo, profetizando, assim, a Salvação e a Redenção pelo anúncio que aqui faz, esta escultura é notável pelo modulado rígido das vestes e pela representação da expressão idosa e hierática do santo.

Niche of the chancel of the former Church of Saint John of the Mocharro

Portuguese late-Gothic sculpture, with characteristics that indicate that its execution comes from the region of Coimbra. Pointing to a disc where the Paschal Lamb is seen, the sacrificial symbol of Jesus Christ, thus prophesying Salvation and Redemption through the announcement he makes here, this sculpture is notable for the rigid modulation of the garments and for the representation of the elderly and hieratic expression of Holy.
