Museu Municipal
O Museu Municipal de Óbidos tem como objetivo promover o património cultural do concelho, numa dinâmica que dê a conhecer as obras de arte, acrescentar conhecimento, criar parcerias que contribuam para formar públicos e reforçar o conhecimento sobre o território. O estudo, preservação e divulgação dos valores locais tem papel central para o conhecimento do território.
O pressuposto da sua intervenção assenta num conjunto de atividades de pesquisa e investigação, inventariação, recolha, seleção, tratamento documental, conservação e restauro e conceção de formatos de apresentação e comunicação deste património, que se consubstanciam em exposições e jornadas de reflexão.
As obras residentes no museu resultam do espólio municipal - espólio de arte religiosa, integrando objetos de culto, pintura e escultura (do século XV ao século XVIII), artefactos arqueológicos, bem como arte contemporânea, - bem como das partilhas dos acervos das Paróquias e da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Óbidos.
As exposições são uma viagem pela produção artística e pela devoção religiosa da história da Vila, de que destacamos a obra de Josefa d’Óbidos. A coleção testemunha a ação das colegiadas religiosas e o enriquecimento cultural marcado por encomendas a alguns dos maiores nomes da Arte Portuguesa, como André Reinoso, Baltazar Gomes Figueira ou Belchior de Matos. Outros formatos expositivos promovem tematicamente o diálogo entre obras de arte clássica do acervo e o trabalho de artistas contemporâneos.
The Municipal Museum of Óbidos aims to promote the cultural heritage of the municipality, in a dynamic that makes known the works of art, add knowledge, create partnerships that contribute to form audiences and reinforce knowledge about the territory. The study, preservation and dissemination of local values plays a central role in understanding the territory.
The assumption of his intervention is based on a set of research and investigation activities, inventory, collection, selection, document treatment, conservation and restoration and design of presentation and communication formats of this heritage, which are embodied in exhibitions and reflection days.
The works residing in the museum are the result of the municipal collection - collection of religious art, including objects of worship, painting and sculpture (from the 15th to the 18th centuries), archaeological artifacts, as well as contemporary art, - as well as from the sharing of the collections of the Parishes and of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Óbidos.
The exhibitions are a journey through artistic production and religious devotion to the history of the Vila, of which we highlight the work of Josefa d’Óbidos. The collection witnesses the action of religious collegiate bodies and the cultural enrichment marked by orders from some of the greatest names in Portuguese Art, such as André Reinoso, Baltazar Gomes Figueira or Belchior de Matos. Other exhibition formats thematically promote the dialogue between classical art works from the collection and the work of contemporary artists.
