Best jar opener

So much food comes in glass jars these days and opening the lid the first time is a bit of a challenge. In times past, I have tried heating the metal lid, knocking the side of the lid on the counter top and when really stumped, handing the jar to a willing man (or woman) to open.

These days, I use a handy little device called a Jarkey. It's such a great little device. Gently lever the edge of the lid to pop the seal then twist the lid open. You don't need a lot of strength to break the seal and of course, you don't want to damage the lid or you won't be able to reuse it.Prepare to pay about $5 for a Jarkey which you'll find in most kitchen shops.
