Lebanese Seven Spice Mix

This spice mix is used in Lebanese dishes that include minced beef and lamb. It is also an ingredient in the vegetarian croquettes called Falafels.

To make a Lebanese Seven Spice mix, add the following spices below in powdered form and in equal quantities. You don't use a lot of this spice mix in recipes so unless you are making Lebanese recipes often, only measure out small quantities of each spice - 1/4 teaspoons for example.

Ingredients:

  • nutmeg
  • ginger
  • allspice
  • fenugreek
  • cloves
  • cinnamon
  • black pepper

Method:

  1. Combine all the ingredients
  2. store in a screw top jar.

Tips:

This spice mix is not the same as the Arabic Seven Spice mix, which includes cumin, paprika, coriander, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, and black pepper (as well as a little bit of cardamom). However, the mixes are used in much the same way.
