What am I being graded on?

In order to keep this class fun and simple but also get you to learn something useful, you will be responsible for 1 project and 2 entries on a sketchbook per week:

Quarter 1 Weekly Projects

Week 3 :  Camera Settings for Photo and Video

Week 4 : Camera Framing and Filming a Sequence

Week 5 : Camera Movement Video Project

Week 6 : Understanding the Principles of Design in Film

Week 7 :  Editing in Premier 

Week 8 :  Premiere Effects

Week 9 :  Intermedia Editing: Trailer Mashup Final


Quarter 3 Weekly Projects

Week 1: Welcome Back & Tech Review

Week 2 :  Premiere video workflow and PSA

Week 3 :  Basics of Storyboarding: Story Sequence Project

Week 4 : After Effects: Youtube Intro 

Week 5 : YouTube Channel Trailer

Week 6 : How to tell a story: 3 Act Story Structure

Week 7 : 3 Act story Structure Movie Trailer

Week 8 :  The Feature Interview Project

Week 9 :  Pilo City Project

Week 10 : Final Video Reel Project

B. Daily Sketchbook

You will make one sketchbook entry twice per week on Tuesdays and Wednesday. You will submit your entry on Google classroom every day before 3:15pm. You scan or take a picture with your phone or webcam.  Most entries will be open to any topic and medium so long as you fill an entire page. On Wednesdays you will have a specific prompt or response to a reading or video. 


Learning Goals

Every project will come with clear and specific objectives. These are the essential skills or concepts that you will learn. In order to create awesome projects you must first understand what your end goal is. 

Success Criteria

The success criteria is how you will show me that you reached your learning goals and learned what you were supposed to learn. This will typically be presented as a rubric of the requirements for each of your projects.

This class is a Project-Based Course, which means you will have to complete all projects to pass the class with a good grade. Most of the projects have multiple components and each part must be completed  in order to receive a grade.
