Transition to High School

& Course Selection for 9th Grade 

Our team at Ohio Virtual Academy hosts a series of classconnect sessions to help our 8th grade students (and their families) successfully transition to high school to our high school program here at OHVA. Please find more information below!

PLEASE NOTE: 

If you are a competitive athlete, please note that OHVA's High School classes are not currently NCAA accredited and therefore will not count towards NCAA eligibility. Student athletes interested in competing in college sports should visit the NCAA website at http://www.ncaa.org/playcollegesports to obtain information on NCAA requirements.

During the session, we discussed how to prepare for high school, graduation requirements, a typical 9th grade schedule, similarities and differences between the middle school and high school platform and important upcoming course selection dates.


Even if the student is undecided on whether they are going to attend OHVA next year for high school, we would still encourage them to listen to the recording if they were unable to attend the live session.

Course Selection Sessions 


Thursday 3/7/24 @ 6:00 pm  OR

 Friday, 3/8/24 @ 10:00 am


8th grade students are required to attend a course selection session to select their classes for 9th grade. 


We will host 2 sessions, but students only need to attend one session. Both sessions are exactly the same. Please choose the time that works for best you.


Links for both sessions will appear on the students CC scheduler. 


The course selection form to select classes will be share during the session and is due by Thursday, April 4th.

Counselor Corner: Preparing for High School Over the Summer

8th grade students will be invited to attend a counselor corner in May to help prepare for transitioning to high school.
