Oral Presentations
The number one thing to remember when you are giving an oral presentation is to speak louder than you think you need to.
The following is a quick and easy way to prepare an oral presentation from research information.
HOW TO PREPARE AN ORAL PRESENTATION
1. Use a copy of outline and cut apart between Roman Numerals.
2. Put each topic section on a note card.
3. Compose an introduction note card introducing yourself and topic.
4. Make a note card explaining display and projects.
5. Write a conclusion note card- share opinions on your topic.
6. Practice your presentation with a friend.
7. Practice your presentation with a parent
8. Practicing with a tape recorder or video camera is especially helpful
A good oral presentation follows these guidelines:
1. Dress for success; if you are dressed nicely you will feel more confident.
2. Breathe deeply and walk confidently to where you are giving your speech.
3. Be prepared; use numbered note cards and key words instead of sentences.
4. Stand still.
5. Look up while speaking and establish eye contact with your audience.
6. Speak loudly and slowly.
7. Avoid Ums and like.
