The Star Spangled Banner is one symbol of the United States of America. The banner represents freedom, peace and democracy. It also gives us hope and courage to do a lot of jobs.
The Star Spangled Banner has gone through many wars. It has gone through the Civil War and given soldiers courage when they have to go into the fights. Some of the battles have been rough, but we have always conquered the enemy.
People should pay more attention to the Star Spangled Banner. Sixty-one percent of Americans do not know all the words to the national anthem. We should be able to at least say the first verse. Soldiers think of the national anthem when they go into war.
