At the end of 2021, I decided to retire. I may teach in other districts from time to time or work virtually. You may still find me online. Since April 2023, I have been tutoring at the Lorain South Branch Library, Monday through Thursday after school.
While attending Kent state beginning in 1982 I worked summers to pay for room and board. For two years I worked at my father's law firm, Spike, Meckler, Rothgery and McClain (That's how I answered the phone. The next four summers, including before my fire my first year teaching, I worked at Cedar Point. I met my husband my first year working there at the Silver Dollar.
I taught for my first six years in Sandusky City Schools. I moved closer to my family in Elyria to work at Clearview the year I had my first child, 1993. I have 3 daughters that went to Clearview. My youngest graduated from Kent State like her mother. I graduated with an Elementary Education and Gifted degree. After taking many varied graduate classes from Great Books to Hands On Science to Flamenco dancing, I decided to get my Masters degree in Computer Uses in Education at Cleveland State. Since then I have more than 30 credits in whatever I feel will help me in the classroom. Just recently I took a class called A Meaningful Mess. I enjoy teaching students and adults about all the cool new things you can do with technology.
I grew up in a large local family with lots of animals. I have a dog named Thor and a lot of wildlife in my backyard. I enjoy gardening and reading. I took singing and dance lessons when I was younger and was a part of many musicals.
