The recipient of this year’s FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCE Chamber of Commerce Award goes to an individual who has shown great talent, motivation, and creativity within the FACS department.
This individual has been a huge asset in promoting, enhancing, and building the Culinary Arts program.
Through her independent studies, she developed her own Food Blog called “Itchin’ to Get in the Kitchen” to document her gourmet creations.
Her blog, documented over 15 advanced & professional creations such as: Profiterals, homemade pasta, salted caramel ice cream, calzones, & a three tired wedding cake
And her greatest feat, over 200 red velvet gourmet cupcakes for her graduation party
This student will be continuing their education next year at Southwest Minnesota State University, to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts & become Monticello’s next “Top Chef”
So, it is my pleasure to give this year’s FACS award to Riley Fischer
The recipient of this year’s FACS Chamber of Commerce Award goes to an individual who has shown great talent, motivation, and dedication within the FACS courses throughout the past 4 years.
This student has taken 7 courses within the FACS department including independent studies in Fashion Design & Merchandising.
This individual was also a huge part in the success of the past 2 Monticello Fashion Shows. Earning herself the title as fashion show coordinator. This student has specifically discovered and grown natural talent in the arena of fashion design & merchandising.
This student has been a huge asset in promoting, enhancing, and building the fashion program at Monticello.
The skills that the student gained from the FACS courses she has taken and broadened into her personal life including her part time job in the retail industry
