Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization. FCCLA offers opportunities for students to pursue careers that support their interests found in their Family & Consumer Science courses. The work of FCCLA helps students and teachers focus on various youth concerns, including parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, sustainability, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career preparation in four specific Career Pathways. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication—necessary in the home and workplace.
I’ve always wanted to make a ballgown. I would wear princes dresses a lot as a kid and now I see in adult clothes there isn’t big gowns anymore to wear. So I am making one.
I love that we can sew the whole entire time and we get points for it! Makes my heart so happy!!!
To go somewhere in fashion business. I think that would be amazing. I really want to work with clothes.
If you ever wanted to sew and make something. This class is for you. Even if you have no experience! That’s why teachers are there to help you out!
I am working on an interior design project, I have been assigned to design a floor plan and interior of a dog adoption center. Designing floor plans has always been something I have enjoyed, I think because of how puzzle-like it is. You have to make sure everything fits perfectly but also looks good.
I enjoy how much freedom we have with our projects, we are given guideline but really we can include whatever we want in the design. It’s a pretty laid back class, so there little to no stress and we have plenty of time for our projects.
I am hoping to go to college after graduation, although I am currently undecided on a major. I have been considering interior design, fashion design, sonography, and marine biology. I hope to be able to take my hobbies into my future and make some money off of them.
I feel like taking this class can really help with learning time management, and find creativity. There really aren’t any deadlines, so how you spend your time in class is up to you. Some days, if i’m ahead on my project, i’ll use it as a study hall so I can have more time later in my day for this. It truly is a fun class with fun people, everyone in FACS studio actually wants to be there and that makes it really enjoyable environment.
My project follows my type of fashion, so basically anything with pink
Getting to create ideas and make those ideas come to life
Going to a fashion school
Its a fun way to express yourself and even if you make mistakes you still can have fun and laugh about it.
This project I'm working on is for a competition for St. Catherine university
I love being able to have my own process and I LOVE sewing
I plan on starting a small business in photography and in fashion
If you like to have a lowkey class while still working on your project then this class is a perfect class.
For my first project I decided on making a pair of sweatpants with patchwork. Most recently I have really been into streetwear when it comes to different inspirations of dress. I am still in the pre-stages of the garment, getting all the small details organized.
Coming into the class I knew I wanted to do something with sewing. I’ve had previous experience with the sewing machine when I was young, and I was excited to see that I could progress in that area. I also love how much creative freedom we are given with our projects.
Future Plans-
For my future, I plan on attending a 4 year university; but still undecided as to what major I'll go into.
For any student looking into more creative freedom outside of the general FACS classes, I recommend taking FACS Studio; especially if you are looking into fashion or interior design. Students are exposed to a collaborative environment, while still having the space to focus on projects individually. All around great environment!
I'm currently working on a dress for FCCLA which I'm hoping I will be able to wear to the snowball. It will be black with light blue highlights.
Im also working on an interior design project, where Iam working on a dog salon for the little pups to get pampered.
I love the range of things you are able to do. You get to choose what path you get to go down and work at your own pace.
I plan on doing another interior design project, but make a 3D model.
It is very free range as you get to choose what you want pretty much. Any FACS class path you want to do weather thats quilting, interior designing, creating clothes, ect.
Check out my digital portfolio for more!

My project is for interior design and it is to create a dog rescue and design a great space for that, I am exited to be doing this because then people get to see the more creative side of me.
I love FCS studio because it gives me to do my own projects at my own paces and helps show my interests in inverter design.
I am underside right now but I may go into education.
It gives you a change to show off your skills and your work.
I am designing the interior of a dog rescue. The process for this project consists of following a floor plan and then designing a space that fits the needs of the rescue.
I love that FCS Studio allows for you to independently create your own interior design product.
My future plan is to become an Elementary School teacher. As an Elementary School teacher I will use my interior design skills to create a classroom.
If you're someone who is creative and loves interior design or fashion then FCS studio would be a great opportunity to put those skills to work. .
I want to get better at sewing and right now I'm making a tote bag and in the future i have dresses and shirts planned.
The creativity I can have there
Go to college and move to California
Its a fun and eye opening class
I'm doing the FCCLA Interior Design Dog Rescue Project. I’m working on creating a digital blueprint and 3D view. I'm interested in interior designing, especially designing homes.
It's only been a few weeks into school and in FACS class, but so far I'm really enjoying it. It's a very independent learning class. You choose your own projects and lead them yourself.
I plan on becoming an interior designer in the future. I'm not set and stone on it, I have some other passions I might want as a career. If I do become an interior designer, I would eventually get my realtors license. My dream is to flip really cheap homes and redesign them for profit.
It's a great opportunity to dig more into your passions and get an idea of what it would be like as a career. If you're a student who likes working on projects versus listening to lectures, this is a great class for you. It's a self paced class that allows for plenty of time on projects.
My project is to create a floor plan for a utility room in a dog rescue center. My dog rescue is call Daschund Dash Dog Rescue. My theme for the dog rescue is to create a rustic, but modern dog rescue where the dogs will be safe and stable. My interest area in in Interior Design.
I love that we get to expand our knowledge about certain things that we love, and it is a overall chill and fun class.
I hope to become a pediatric nurse, but I also love to decorate houses and help people plan events.
I would recommend FCS to others if you're interested in fashion and interior design, this class will et you more involve into this area. Class that is very chill and fun to be in.
I am making a dog was room/utility room which is level one, and I’ll keep going to level two and three once I’m done. My project name for the dog rescue is Love the Pitties, this rescue is more based on helping Pit Bulls.
I love how it’s an independent class and that I can work on my project at my own pace. It’s such a peaceful class with creative kids.
I plan on going into education or nursing after highschool!
I’d recommend this class to kids who have a passion for interior design or fashion/sewing. It’s an independent study class and can work at your own pace.
The project that I am attempting is the Dog washroom for interior and design. My interested areas is designing comfortable and affordable things for people to live in or to have in their life
That you get to choose your path in what you feel comfortable with and have that chance to explore what your strongest and weakest points are in designing things
To hopefully get better at the things that I have trouble with
It is a fun class if you like to explore and see what your creativity can be put into
I didn’t want to do a normal plain square quilt so I chose a diamond design to spice it up and not be basic. I am the only person in my class doing a quilt.
I love that in FACS Studio class I have full liberty on what I want to do. Also I can decide if I want to do interior design, fashion design or fabric arts.
My future plans in this class is to have a beautiful quilt and maybe another project done.
Its fun, you have full creative and control on what you are going to do.
