Kajsa submitted the FCCLA STAR EVENT 2023 Interior Design Final written by the Interior Design Educator's Council. Using Homestyler- Kajsa designed a counseling space that met a need for 7th-12th graders in a community seeking an after school youth program. The space would be utilized for arts related activities, academic support, tutoring, small groups and offices for mental health support services.
Students were excited to have their voices heard and are following up Angela's presentation with a letter to our Monticello City Council Members highlighting their wants and needs for their city as 14-18 year old citizens in our community.
Hey! Our newest project was to create a dorm room for yourself and your partner. I got Elizabeth Raiche for my partner. After talking to Elizabeth, I learned that we have a lot of the same interests. We both love the color green and plants. She plays lacrosse and likes to read. On her desk, I put some books to make it more personal for her. I tried to look for anything lacrosse related but home-styler did not have anything. She also mentioned she loves fun statement pieces so I added a fun rug, a unique mirror above her bed, and some art to the left of her desk. I tried to keep our sides personal to us, but also maintain a symmetrical space. Our desks are the same style but different colors. Our storage/ dressers are the same style but in different sizes and colors. I put lots of plants on her side and I put a coffee maker on my side. One thing I would change would be that I wish I would've saved room for a garbage can. Thank you for reading about my split personality dorm room, I hope you learned a little about Elizabeth and Me :)
This week in interior design we needed to design a dorm room, but one side needed t be our own style and one side needed to be another classmates style. My style is rustic, country and My classmates style is more neutrals, blues and homey. i tried protreying both sides but also blending them together in the middle by adding both themes. i added little things we both like and also added different things only one of us liked but tried keeping in on our own sides. As i went through designing this dorm room i definitely tried making it like our own spaces but also adding it into one space.
I asked her some questions to try to get to know her style more and wrote down some different items that i could use to make this both hers and I's style. i think after a lot of consideration and hard work i made a space her and i can both enjoy and feel at home in.
Hi everyone! This week in interior design we learned about dorm rooms. In many cases, dorm roommates have 2 people that are complete strangers. In dorm rooms, the two sides of the dorm can be very different because typically there are two separate sides so the roommates can have their own space. The roommates can have very different personalities, like one likes pastels and the other likes dark and grunge.
I didn't mean to make my room so small, but it has all the essentials it needs. It has 2 laptops, a mini fridge, a microwave, cups and plates, and a garbage bin. I added a dresser and two hampers because I thought it would be more realistic to have those. I added a window and two alarm clocks because we need light and maybe some people don't want to use their phones as an alarm.
In the dorm room I created, my side is more pink and white. I love plants, I'm a little messy, and I like stuffed animals. So, I did my best to show my personality, just like on my mood board. The roommate I chose was Tristan. He said his favorite color was pink, he was messy, liked pastels, had a TV, and liked graphic posters. There weren't really any graphic posters, so I just went with something I thought he would like. There weren't many pink beds so I decided on a light blue bed with pink pillows. To show the messy part, I left food on the desk and pillows on the floor.
Hello everyone! This week I created a split dorm room in my Interior Design class. This design was a more challenging design. Everyone has different styles so I had to incorporate both of our styles into one room. My goal for this dorm room was to make it feel welcoming to anyone. I included a desk for college students to work at. To create this design I used the website https://www.homestyler.com/. Thank you for checking out this week's design.
