Richardson Nature Center
Richardson Nature Center developed a small nature play area to encourage nature play while preserving more sensitive areas of the park.
This play area focuses on naturally occurring elements. Initially staff explored incorporating built and fixed features in the play area but were advised that this would mean more liability, and maintenance. Currently play area maintenance includes tree trimming, and removing of large hazards while leaving small hazards marked to educate visitors.
