Minnesota Zoo
The mission of the Minnesota Zoo is to connect people to animals, and the natural world in order to save wildlife. The MN Zoo elected to develop a nature play area following research indicating that “meaningful connections to nature lead to development of a conservation ethic later in life.”
The nature play area was installed July 26, 2015. One of the main challenges for this play area is keeping the loose parts together. The zoo has found that because the play area is built on a hill, many loose parts roll into the creek below.
