French Regional Park
A 20-acre space of French Regional Park has been dedicated to an off-trail “exploration area” . This space was not designed or installed, it is an existing area in the park that was made available for the public. Signage and maps are used to designate the boundaries of this free space. This area is not actively maintained by the park district.

*This space was not originally intended as a “nature-play” area. It is intended to serve as an “exploration” area for families and visitors. The park found that children enjoy playing in the woods even without added play elements/features.
