After winning Miss Oklahoma, Jane Ann had to crown a new Miss OKC!
Oklahoma wins Miss America for the 2nd time (the first was Norma Smallwood in 1926). Jane Jayroe was Miss OKC, Miss Oklahoma, and then Miss America 1967. She was from Laverne. For her talent, Jane sang and conducted the live TV orchestra in the song, "1,2,3". Other contestants/state directors claimed this was a "gimmick" and conducting was banished from future talents after Jane's win!
