The 1938 Miss Oklahoma pageant was very interesting.  President Thedore Roosevelt himself was involved!  In his efforts to boost national parks, the 1938 state contest was held at Platt National Park in Sulphur, Oklahoma.  He sent his son, Elliott to crown the winner!  The Travel Bureau of Oklahoma was named the sponsor of Miss Oklahoma to prepare, clothe, and get her ready for Atlantic City.  However, they got more than they bargained for with Miss Marjorie Ann Adams, as she and her mother were quite difficult to please!  The press named her "Her Majesty!"  Read on for more on Marjorie Adams:
