Unit 6 focused on databases, information systems, and how technology helps organize and analyze information. While learning about databases and data management, I also reflected on everything I learned throughout this course as a whole. This class helped me better understand how technology impacts everyday life, communication, privacy, education, and even future careers in healthcare.
Throughout this course, I learned how important digital literacy is in today’s world. Technology is constantly evolving, and being able to understand digital tools, online communication, and information systems is an important life skill. One of the most important topics we explored was digital ethics and online privacy. I learned how companies collect and use personal information, why protecting digital identities matters, and how online actions can leave permanent digital footprints. This changed the way I think about social media, security, and responsible technology use.
This course also helped strengthen my technical skills using programs like:
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Excel
I became more confident creating presentations, formatting professional documents, organizing information, and using spreadsheets to analyze data. These are skills that will help me both academically and professionally in the future..
Learning about digital footprints made me realize how much people share online without fully thinking about the long term impact. Social media can connect people and spread information quickly, but it can also influence mental health, privacy, and public image. This topic helped me become more aware of how technology shapes modern communication and society.
