For this project, I researched an emerging technology and explained how it is beginning to impact everyday life and different career fields. The goal was to explore both the benefits and possible concerns connected to new technology while presenting research in a clear and organized way.
My project focused on AI assisted medical imaging, especially how artificial intelligence is being used alongside mammograms and radiology imaging.
I chose AI assisted medical imaging because it connects directly to both my current job and my future career goals. I currently work in gynecology, and I plan to pursue a career in radiology, so this topic immediately stood out to me.
Over the past few months, I have noticed more conversations and use of AI assisted mammograms in healthcare settings. That made me curious about how AI can help physicians detect abnormalities, improve accuracy, and support patient care.
I also liked that this topic felt realistic and relevant instead of just futuristic technology that may never actually affect me.

One interesting thing I learned is that AI in medical imaging is not meant to completely replace radiologists. Instead, it works more like a support tool that helps identify areas on scans that may need closer attention.
I found it interesting that AI can sometimes detect patterns or abnormalities very quickly, but human medical professionals are still needed to interpret results, understand the patient’s history, and make final decisions.
Basically, AI can assist the process, but healthcare still depends heavily on human knowledge and judgment.

This project helped me better understand how quickly technology is changing healthcare. Before researching this topic, I mostly thought of AI as something connected to social media, school, or online tools. I did not realize how much it is already becoming part of the medical field.
I also learned that technology can improve healthcare while still needing human involvement. AI may help increase efficiency and accuracy, but medical professionals are still responsible for patient care and decision making.
Overall, this project made me more excited about entering the radiology field because it showed me how healthcare and technology continue evolving together.
