I have created an infographic using Canva to reflect on the article Computer Technology, Science Education, and Students with Learning Disabilities. Canva is a great resource that teachers can use to engage their students and achieve several different objectives. I created this infographic by using the tools and templates from Canva. This infographic connects well with domain 4 of the Danielson framework because of its ability to be used for self-reflection or to make learning a collaborative spirit. Teachers can use Canva to present knowledge, or students can collaborate and work on an assignment collaboratively.
This related to the leader educator and empowered learner student of the ISTE standards. This is connected to these two components due to the ability that Canva gives teachers and their students to engage with one another. A way that teachers can use Canva to show that they are leaders is to present knowledge to students in a fun and engaging way. The teacher can add fun pictures and fonts to engage the students. A student can be an empowered learner through Canva by engaging with the teacher's content and getting the opportunity to work with peers. Canva can be used for collaborative work or by being presented by a teacher.
CANVA CREATION: Characteristics of a Good Friend
Canva is an online program for graphic design that could be utilized in the classroom. Canva is very user-friendly, making it accessible for teachers with varying technology experiences. Canva provides a large variety of temples, images, shapes, and clipart to use to customize each project. To make my Canva creation, I found a template that best fits my project's needs and customized it with the topic of "Characteristics of a Good Friend." With Canva, there are many different things that a user can make with it, including presentations, posters, social media posts, and many more.
The purpose of this flyer is to present information to students visually appealingly and engage them through reflection questions. I created this flyer for a life skills classroom because making friends is hard for some exceptional learners. Being a good friend and making friends may be a challenge for students in this type of classroom, so I was inspired to design this to help them become their best version.
Canva could fit into this Domain (3C Engaging Students) because it provides an opportunity to give visual representations of content. Students can create their own visual projects, engage in interactive teaching, compare and contrast instruction, and use visual prompts. These are all great ways that Canva can help to engage students in the classroom.
