hand project

Hand Study - October 2017 - Paper

For this project, we had to create a piece that included at least two pure contour line hands. We were asked to choose a subject that has some meaning to us. Initially I wanted to do something that would prove how valuable and important my hands are to me, being an artist, but couldn’t find a way to show that in a piece. Instead, I decided to make a series of hands that would appear to move in a sequence opposing a set of identical hands that all go together in a cool symmetrical form. So I drew my hands in each ‘phase’ of the string of motion and cut two of each in gradient colors. It was one of those pieces that didn’t really come together until it came together. But it was really fun and good practice for hands.
