The Cadet Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is an semi-annual requirement for all cadets enrolled in MCJROTC. It consists of three events. The pull-up/chin-up event is a timed two-minute exercise that measures upper body strength. The push-up event can be substituted for pull-ups; however, the maximum score for push-ups is 60 points compared to the 100 points available for pull-ups. The second event is abdominal crunches. This is a timed two-minute exercise for a maximum of 100 points. The last event is a timed 1-mile run. You can receive a maximum of 100 points for the run to total 300 points for all three events. In order to recognize those cadets that exceed maximum point values on the PFT, we use the competition point scale for each event which adds 50 points per event.
