Cadet attempting to create a new record in air rifle must do so while participating in a postal or shoulder to shoulder competitive match. Generally, there are two types of matches - 3 x 10 & 3 x 20. The perfect score for a 3 x 10 is 300 points. The perfect score for a 3 x 20 is 600 points. Each match is completed in three positions; prone, standing, and kneeling.
