Restorative Yoga

What is it?

  • Restorative Yoga is a practice of asanas that is all about slowing and opening the body through passive stretching.

  • In restorative yoga, you're only doing few positions within an hour which is different than the everyday active yoga people are familiar with.

  • It's considered unique because props are used instead of your muscles like seated forward bend or legs against a wall. This is a way to take pressure off and relax the body.

  • Restorative yoga has been found to decrease depression in cancer survivors, help with anxiety and depression, improve pain symptoms in cancer patients and help manage toxicity cancer treatments.
