Mindfulness Meditation

What is it?

Mindfulness is a form of meditation that uses a meditation technique where a person directs all their focus on the current moment. This is a form of concentration with a heightened sense of awareness. The main focus is about yourself, developing compassion and enjoying the present moments. Despite its ties to Buddhism, you don’t need to be religious to practice Mindfulness Meditation.

Mindfulness Meditation was pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the west as a possible psychological intervention, was the first to study the connection between mindfulness meditation and pain. Patients trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), showed statistically significant reductions in measures of present-moment pain, etc.
