The final stage of the School Experience Program (SEP) is independent teaching. In this stage, prospective teachers are required to teach independently in class. If at the previous stage prospective teachers were allowed to be accompanied by a friend or teacher mentor, but at this stage, prospective teachers must be able to teach and manage all class activities independently. Prospective teachers are fully responsible for the process of teaching and learning activities in class but are still under the supervision of the mentor teacher. The focus at this stage is making lesson plans, preparing learning materials, delivering material in class, conducting ice breaking, doing assessments, and others. Apart from being in the classroom context, prospective teachers are also required to become real teachers at schools where they can mingle or socialize with other teachers and take part in all activities at school such as joining flag ceremonies, being dutty teachers, participating in school anniversary celebrations, and so on.
