I matter because I can make a difference in this world through my music. I have learned about many different cultures by studying different genres of music from around the world. Playing the guitar makes me happy and helps me focus. This song, Flamenco de mi Corazon, Spanish for "Flamenco from my heart", came from deep within me. Flamenco is a style of music native to Spain and started in Andalusia. It is one of the most popular music genres of Spain and is one of my favorites as well. I love its rythms and major and minor chord clashes.
My song persistence is about never giving up. This represents who we are and why we matter because if we always gave up and never completed hard challenges, we would never learn anything. We wouldn't have technology, books, maybe school because whenever we tried to make one of these, we would give up.
This music composition is all about joy. It is a happy and bright song to represent the sound of joy. This relates to the theme because it shows I matter because I can spread the joy by creating and playing music. It represents happiness and the world being a peaceful place.
I matter because I can use my unique traits to help people. For the past two years, I have been growing my hair and will donate it to make wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy. My composition describes my journey. Initially, I was excited to help people by growing my hair. Later, I discovered that long hair takes patience to grow and care for. I was bullied for my long hair but remembered that a little courage from me helps kids who require a lifetime of courage. In the end, I am excited to have helped help kids in need.
