High School Music Composition

I thought I should be a coloring book. I thought I should fit inside certain lines and hide the parts of methat didn't. The lyrics of this song are about how I learned that I matter - my true, unique self matters -because when people show their true selves with their diverse perspectives, that's when change andinnovation are possible. The vocals in this song include two different voices, each with their own style - onevoice speaks and the other sings - to show that every unique voice matters and each is an important piece of the puzzle.

My song, Be Happy, means to me that especially in such a chaotic time, I can’t forget to also take care of myself. I matter because I deserve to be happy just like everyone else. Sometimes it’s good to take a breath and let go of things in order to remember that self care is important. This son is that breath of fresh air.
