My work is a short story about an employee named Dave and the relationship he has with his coworker Emma. The story relates to the theme because of the concept of "I matter because…" is played out in the character Emma, and is given an answer in the interactions shared between the two protagonists.

Over the course of the last few billion years, there have been so many events that led up to where we are now. The birth of life. The rise and fall of the multiple dominant species on earth, most famously the dinosaurs. The five mass extinctions. Now, it is our turn, and each one of us matters because it is our actions that will determine the fate of our species and all the others. We are the face of the future.

While I was brainstorming for this project/topic, I realized that I couldnt appropriately describe the reasons for why I matter it was indescribable. I describe all the things you expect should decide your worth, and I question them because they cant truly describe why I matter. As the poem progress I discover that I can never express why I matter, but how my heart , spirit, and soul come pretty close.

It's not the grand, monumental stories we hear about on television that spur long-lasting, meaningful change. It's the actions we take every single day that cement our places in history, and that is what my work focuses on. "All That I Do" relates to the Reflections theme, "I Matter Because..." as my poem conveys the impact a person going through their daily life has, and my work has a strong call to action: If I build an impact and matter, you can build an impact and matter.

Some people believe they matter and some don’t, and many people debate. I think that somebody matters because they choose to matter. It is a choice to be ambitious, make a postive impact, inspire and be inspired. I choose to use my ambition and my inspiration to change the world for the better. I choose to share my unique perspective with the world. I choose to matter.
