ONTA
日田を代表する陶器である「小鹿田焼」は、江戸時代中期らの歴史ある焼物です。昭和6年、民芸運動の指導者、柳宗悦氏がこの地を訪れ、その伝統技法と素朴な作調が賞揚され全国、世界に紹介されました。平成７年、国の重要無形文化財保持団体の指定を受け、今もなお一子相伝、一貫した手作業により伝統が守られています。エリアスオリジナル商品も製作して頂いています。
Onta ware, a representative pottery of Hita, is a historical type of pottery dating back to the mid-Edo period. In 1931, Soetsu Yanagi, a leader of the folk art movement, visited the area and praised its traditional techniques and simple style, introducing it to Japan and the world. In 1995, it was designated as a nationally important intangible cultural property, and the tradition continues to be preserved through a single-generation transmission of techniques and consistent handcrafting. They also produce original Elias products for us.
