日田のものづくりの特徴は、生活用品が全て揃うこと。小鹿田焼の食器やクラト職人による木のコップや竹の箸。ソファなど家具の産地でもあり地域資源を活用した杉や桧の建築材も多く生産されています。同時に大工や板金、左官職人も沢山います。そんな日田のものづくりが一堂に集められた家が、この「まめやど」です。
歴史的建造物が並ぶ豆田町にあり、日田のものづくりを伝える「ライフデザインショップ エリアス」のショールームでもあるこのまめやどは、日田の地域文化や歴史も同時に伝えています。
A distinctive feature of Hita's manufacturing industry is that all daily necessities are available. Onta ware tableware, wooden cups made by Krato craftsmen, and bamboo chopsticks. It is also a production area for sofas and other furniture, and a lot of building materials made from cedar and cypress, utilizing local resources, are also produced here. There are also many carpenters, sheet metal workers, and plasterers. Mameyado is a house where all of Hita's craftsmanship is gathered under one roof.
Located in Mamedamachi, which is lined with historical buildings, Mameyado is also the showroom for Life Design Shop Elias, which promotes Hita's craftsmanship, and at the same time, it also promotes Hita's local culture and history.
