Spanish 1-in person
Instructor: Melanie Adams
Friday 9:00-10:25, Community Room (ground floor)
We will be using the workbook from Practice Makes Perfect Complete Spanish Grammar Premium Fourth Edition published by McGraw Hill. I recommend that you have either a good English-Spanish dictionary or a website handy such as Word Reference.
Homework will be posted on this website by the following Sunday. Answers will be posted on the Thursday evening before the next class. We will always go over the homework, however, at the beginning of each class session.
A little about me...I taught high school and college French and Spanish for 45 years.. This will be my fifth year teaching at La Causerie where I am also a student of Italian. I lived in England for 6 years, teaching at the American Community School in Egham, which is quite near to Windsor. I love to travel, eat at new places, read, and learn languages. Can't wait to meet you all.
Some ideas for practice:
Here are some websites: Coffee Break Spanish, Easy Spanish, Slow News in Spanish. You can get some content for free.
Anytime you want to practice a concept, such as adjective and noun agreement, there are always free exercises on Google.
If you want a paper version of a dictionary, Merriam-Webster is good. Try Half Price Books or, of course, Amazon.
