Go over DALN Groupwork and analyze the Sample Literacy Narrative by Misty Hill.
Discuss Writing Process for Writing Project 1 Literacy Narrative and Introductory/Conclusion paragraphs.
What does a First Draft look like? It looks messy. I will not be grading on grammar or format. I will be looking at content. Does the writer understand the Story Arc? Does the writer adequately explain their community, the process of becoming literate in that community, and how those experiences contributed positively to their identity? If there's an introduction, does it hook the reader's attention? If there's a conclusion, does it sum up the writer's experiences with an overall theme of what they learned and does it leave the reader with a lasting impression?
HW: First Draft due on Friday. Your First Draft must be 2 pages in length (of any part of the essay-Introductory paragraph, body (beginning, middle, end), or conclusion) and it is worth 10 pts of your 100 points for you WP1. If you don't turn in a first draft, you are already starting with less than an A.
