2. Application period

1) 1st round (Quick Pass): Monday, February 19 - Monday, February 26

• there would be no need for submission of your Certificate of Enrollment as it will be processed by the OIA during the Quick Pass period 

(NOT applicable for the 2nd round)

2) 2nd round:  Friday, March 15 - Saturday, March 23

• You will have to prepare all the necessary documents yourself (see below for documents that are needed)

3. Fingerprint registration (updated March 11th, 2024: Immigration Office no longer visit universities for fingerprint registration - students have to visit immigration office by themselves. Please check the email inbox for the designated appointment date and time!) 

• Officers from the Immigration Office will be visiting Konkuk for a group fingerprint registration (date TBA)

• If you miss this date for fingerprint scanning, you will have to visit the Immigration Office yourself and have your fingerprint scanned there 

***We highly suggest you apply for the group application as it would save you a trip to the Immigration Office at least twice (It takes an hour and a half to reach the Seoul Immigration Office from Konkuk University!) 

1. Documents you will need for your Registration Card (document in asterisk will be provided by the Office of International Affairs)

1) (Integrated) Application Form 

2) Passport 

3) A Copy of Passport 

4) 2 ID photos

5) Certificate of Enrollment (included in your welcome/arrival kit)

6) School Business Registration *

7) Residency Documents

• dorm residents: KU:L House Residency Certificate (available on the Quick Menu tab of KU:L House's website) 

*ID: student number, Password: date of birth (YYMMDD)

• off-campus residents: Confirmation of Residence/Accommodation & Associated Documents (eg. copy of housing contract and copy of landlord's ID card)

2. Make an online reservation at HiKorea *only possible after entrance (reservations are not possible abroad)

3. Visit Seoul Immigration Center (Located at Yangcheon-gu) with all your documents and application fee (30,000 KRW in CASH)

4. Revisit the Seoul Immigration Office on your designated date with your receipt & passport for your fingerprint scanning

If you fail to meet the deadline, you will be charged a hefty fine and will be considered an illegal immigrant!

After one receives their Registration Card and changes accommodation, all foreigners are required to report their address change within 14 days from the date of change to the Government of South Korea at their district's Immigration Office/online at Hikorea

Bring your 1) housing contract (with your name listed as the housing contractee), 2) Registration Card, 3) Passport

If you fail to meet the deadline, you will be obliged to pay a penalty of KRW 100,000 or more!
