Course Registration
Online Course Registration
We want you to be fully aware of the competitive registration process. Many of you are used to getting all the courses you want to take at your home university. However, this is not the case at Konkuk and pretty much all Korean universities. Please refrain from trying to take courses that are crucial to your graduation as we cannot supersede course-related matters.
Students compete for certain classes which may be filled within seconds (not minutes!) as soon as registration opens. Many will be filled within 1~2 minutes. Please have a list of backup courses ready!
Go to Konkuk's course registration portal and log in with your portal ID and password. (The portal ID and password are case sensitive)
*portal ID and password will be generated by OIA and given out via email before course registration

Course Registration Guidelines (short)
Prior to registration
1) remember to allow all pop-ups for your browser
2) find and take note of all the course numbers for your courses (4-digit number) using the List of Courses Taught in English

4) how to search for courses online: course timetable
this site is only provided in Korean, so please ask your ISV for help or use Google Translate (works best with Korean to English)
the 비고 states whether the course has restrictions such as majors, year-grade, and etc.
5) you can register for courses online during the following periods:
Automatic Course Registration: open twice
--> open to all year grades
(Manual) Course Registration: open twice
--> all exchange/visiting students are considered 4th-year students (seniors), hence you can manually register for courses once on the 4th-year registration day and once more during the all-grade registration period.
Automatic Course Registration
1) Log in to the course registration portal and click the Course Basket tab
2) Enter the 4-digit course number and click save
courses cannot have overlapping time schedules
courses will be automatically registered if the number of students registering does not exceed the quota
if registered successfully, each tab will change from "신청중" to "신청완료" during the confirmation period
courses that exceeded the quota will show "신청중" during the confirmation period. You may try again during the 2nd round of Automatic Course Registration or during Manual Course Registration
Course Basket (Backup List)
This is section only acts as a 'backup basket' for your courses and they will NOT be automatically registered!!!
you may have courses with overlapping time schedules
you CANNOT have the same courses as the ones in "Course Basket (Automatic Registration)"
(Manual) Course Registration
1) Log in to the course registration portal and click the Course Registration tab
2) Enter the 4-digit course number and click save
registered courses will appear with the pop-up "저장에 성공하였습니다"
unlike Automatic Registration, Manual Course Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis
even if you failed to register for the courses you want on the first day of Manual Course Registration, you can check the registration portal until the last day to see if others have given up their spot
Adding a course after Course Registration: Add and Drop Period
1) if there are seats remaining for a course, register online at the registration portal
2) if the course has reached its enrollment quota
fill out the "Add and Drop Form" and submit it to your professor on the first day of class, if your professor is able to take additional students, they will enter your registration information on your behalf
due to COVID-19, you may need to submit your Add & Drop form via email (please ask for their permission beforehand!) * see here on how to search for your professor's email
it is the student's responsibility to check whether the course was registered properly before the end of the Add & Drop Period
Do note that adding and dropping courses after this period is NOT POSSIBLE. Make sure you have all the courses you need and remember to cancel all the courses you don't need!
Post-registration: checking for canceled classes
log-in to the registration portal and click Cancelled Classes
if your course is on the list of Cancelled Classes, you may add a new course through the portal during the Add and Drop Period and the Final Adjustment Period (2nd week of the semester)
each student is responsible to check for any canceled classes after course registration
*** Common Problems During Registration***
1) Message: 수강인원 초과과목입니다. (“The course you have just selected is full”)
2) Message: 과목이 존재하지 않습니다. (“The course does not exist”) --> you may have entered the wrong course number
3) Message: 한도 학점을 초과 했습니다. (“You have exceeded the maximum number of credits you can register for.”)
4) Message: 시간표 중복입니다. (“The course you have just selected conflicts with the course you already registered for.”)
5) Message: 수강학과 제한과목입니다. (“The course you have just selected is restricted to the students of your major.”)
