First, I love Friedemann Friese games. Probably because he's quirky, and I like quirky. We have Fresh Fish, but it is the original 1997 version. I just went looking for it, but I couldn't find it on our completely organized shelving system (in other words, stuck on the shelves with very little rhyme or reason). I think we played it, but I'm not sure. When they were playing, I really had trouble seeing the the little division things on the board that could add roads and make other players lose their reserved spots, but it seemed familiar. However, that is apparently not even in the 1997 version, so I am completely confused. (But when am I not?) I also couldn't see that they were putting little 3D stalls on the board and I kept wondering what those yellow blocks in front of Dave were for. However, after looking at pictures on BGG, I went back and looked again. The were certainly using them. (This problem probably comes from the fact that I listen, but don't watch much.)
Anyway, as they mention during the game, it's pretty harsh (and apparently the original is harsher.) So, I think it would be really interesting, but maybe a little too abstract for me. (Yes, it has them, but it seems kind of abstract, too.) We'll have to play ours soon.
By the way, I saw something in this video that was completely new to me. Watch Dave shuffle tiles. We shuffle tiles by putting them upside down and moving them around.
