I have so many thoughts jumbling around in my head that I'm not sure where to start. Oh well, gotta start somewhere.
This reminds me of RoboRally, a game my husband and I used to play constantly (back before we had kids). This is different in that as you program your actions, you can see (mostly) what the others are programming. However, it has similarities in that you might not be where you had planned to be so things don't work out as you planned. I enjoy that programming aspects in games. We have a couple of others like that, but I enjoy RoboRally the most.
I was noticing that it seemed way overproduced. I mean, it's beautiful, but do you really need the board to put the 3D train on? Do you need a 3D train? It's cool, but it must add to the cost. Also it makes it kind of hard to move the guys around (for those of us with sausage fingers, my hubby, and/or shaking hands, me). However, they mentioned near the end that the edition they played is special. (It even had little 3D cacti!) The version you can purchase doesn't have the board or the extra decorations. It does seem to be nicely produced and it does have the 3D train.
I haven't always read the comments on the videos on YouTube, but it seems to be that there is increased criticism of how well they followed the rules. In one way, that's good because it clarifies rules for those who are watching to learn to play the game, but it can also be very nitpicky and annoying. I just really enjoy watching them play. Do they need a constant critique?
