As I watched them play, it just seemed very procedural. Do this, do that, score this, score that. I didn't really see where the "game" was. It certainly has a lot of neat ideas and the separate boards are cool, but why are there seven? You can't have even columns or rows or whatever.
The backs of the boards did look more interesting, but some of them seemed even more punitive. You give a negative shield to the player in last place and get positive ones back. That sounds like life in the US: the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
I like card drafting. The different ways the boards worked seemed cool, So, I like the idea, but I'm not super-impressed. Would I play it? Sure. Do I want it? Not really.
PS I just watched Tom Vasel's Dice Tower Review and he really loves it. So maybe I should give it another chance.
