My Thoughts
I have to be honest, I thought this was going to be some stupid, silly game and it's really not. My first hint was when I put the suggested age above. It's 8 and older. On Board Game Geek, there's a community suggested age also. Usually, at least for the games I've looked at lately, it's younger or the same as the manufacturer's suggestion. This time the community suggested age is 10 and older. That seemed odd to me. When Aaron got out the cute little ruler and started measuring who was closest to a non-player ship, I knew this game was more complicated than it first seemed.
Here are some things I like about it:
- It looks like fun to drop all those dice in the box.
- There are a variety of adventures.
- There are many ways to improve your ship and its crew.
- It's attractive.
Dislikes:
- I think it may depend on luck a little bit too much.
- It's over $40.
