Advent is the time when we wait and get ready to celebrate Jesus' arrival. A long time ago, there were people who were waiting for something very special. They were hoping for someone to come and help them. The Prophet Isaiah told everyone that a special baby was coming, and his name would be Immanuel. People waited for hundreds of years, when Mary and Joseph were told that they would have a baby named Jesus that would bring hope to the whole world. Go was bringing hope to the world through Jesus.
During Advent, we use a wreath and candles to help us celebrate Jesus' birth. If you have an Advent Wreath, light the candle for hope.
Talk about a time you have had to wait for something. What was that like? Were you filled with hope during that time?
Talk about what it means that Jesus brings hope to the world.
Read about the angels visiting Mary and Joseph in the bible or in your favorite story bible.
Pray and thank God for sending Jesus to bring hope to the world.
